Sony continues to remind us the Gran Turismo movie exists

Sony finished up the day of press conferences, taking all us media folk across town for the SONY experience. The Las Vegas convention center is large, and by this point of the day people were dropping like flies in terms of finding anyplace possible to rest their weary bones from all this excitement.

Sony went for the feels to start, and in the first 10 minutes of the press conference, the biggest drop was that Sony was going to be releasing the FIRST EVER FULL LENGTH documentary about Luther Vandross. While I can’t say it got quite the excitement Sony wanted, I will say I love Mr. Vandross and “Dance with my Father” is the saddest song ever. Will see it when I can see it on a streaming service.

The biggest thing to happen in Sony’s conference much like Samsung, was burying the most interesting thing and then instantly talking about AI in cars. Sony showed an augmented reality headset that looked to be a competitor of the forthcoming Apple AR device, and it looks very cool. We did not get much about it other than a brief splash of video, because from there the press conference swerved and stayed talking about…you guessed it, car stuff with AI.

Biggest takeaway from Day 1 of CES = Everyone wants you to watch TV and get more ads served to you while you’re driving
